It takes about 1 hour to arrive safely at the base for the tour when departing from Akakura Onsen. The rendezvous point is at the end of a very long, narrow, winding snow drenched road...

Due to the 8.00am departure time for the tour we can not provide shuttles from other locations or hotel pick ups. This was trialed last season and was unsuccessful.. We would have to leave before the sun comes up and before the roads had been cleared to pick up early enough to make the deadline. We value our safety and respect the winter conditions.
